If your motorhome wanders all over the lane and you’re sawing at the wheel to keep it straight, that’s not just “how big RVs drive.” A lot of the time it’s alignment. A coach that’s out will dart in crosswinds, pull on the crown of the road, and wear the front tires funny — and on something you’ve got your family riding in, that’s worth fixing.

We do heavy-duty RV alignment in Bakersfield and Converse — Class A gas and diesel pushers, Class C, and the big towables. Most car shops can’t even get an RV on the rack; we’ve got the room, the equipment, and the weight rating to do it right.

Why RV alignment is its own thing

An RV isn’t a car, and it isn’t quite a semi. It’s heavy, it’s long, and on a Class A a lot of that weight sits out over the front axle. That combination makes it sensitive to alignment — a little bit out and you feel it as wander, drift, and steering that never quite settles. It also means you can’t just pull into any tire shop; you need a bay that fits a 40-footer and a rack rated for the weight. That’s what we’ve got.

Signs your RV needs an alignment

• It wanders in the lane and you’re constantly correcting
• It darts or gets shoved around in crosswinds and by passing trucks
• It pulls to one side on flat, straight road
• The front tires are wearing uneven — one edge, feathered, or cupped
• The steering wheel sits off-center when you’re pointed straight

If driving it wears you out after a couple of hours, alignment is often a big part of why.

Why it’s worth it

Three reasons. First, safety — a coach that tracks straight and steers predictable is a lot less white-knuckle with the family aboard, especially in wind. Second, tires. RV tires are expensive, and bad alignment scrubs them out fast; worse, an old or overworked RV tire wearing uneven is exactly the kind that lets go on the freeway — and an RV blowout can tear up your fenders, wiring, and bodywork, not just the tire. Third, comfort — a straight, settled coach is far less tiring to drive on a long trip.

What we do

We put the RV on the rack and measure it — the same square, true, to-spec alignment we do on heavy trucks, sized for your coach. We set the front end so it tracks straight and the tires wear flat, check the suspension and steering parts while we’re under there, and tell you straight if something’s worn instead of just out of adjustment. If you’re towing, we can line up the trailer axles too so the whole rig follows clean behind you.
