Ask any driver what a semi truck alignment costs and you’ll get a shrug. Ask them what steer tires cost and they’ll quote you to the dollar — usually with a wince. That’s the whole math of alignment right there: a set of steers runs over a grand, and a truck that’s a half-degree out will eat them in half their life. The alignment that would’ve saved them is $250, flat rate. Why semis go out of alignment
Potholes, curbed wheels, worn kingpins and tie-rod ends, spring sag, or just miles. A tandem-axle tractor has more alignment points than any pickup: steer axle, both drive axles, and every angle has to agree with the frame. And if you pull a trailer that’s out of square, it’ll drag your tractor out of line fighting it — that’s why we check the combination, not just the truck.
Warning signs your truck is out of alignment
Any one of these is worth a check. Two or more and you’re already paying for it in rubber and fuel:
Steer tires feathered or wearing on one edge — the classic
Steering wheel off-center on a straight road
A steady pull you correct all day long
The trailer tracking off to one side behind you (“dog-tracking”)

What we actually do
We run Hunter alignment equipment — laser-precision measurement of every axle against the frame centerline. Caster, camber, and toe on the steer axle; thrust angle and scrub angle on the drives. You get the before/after printout, so you see exactly what was out and what it reads now. Most trucks are in and out the same day, no appointment needed.

Every 60,000–80,000 miles, after any front-end work, after a hard pothole or curb hit — or the moment tires start wearing uneven.
How long does it take?
Usually 1–2 hours for a tractor, a bit longer for a full combination — same-day either way.
